ARTS PDF Variform Lite FAQs
1. How can I export field names from a PDF form to assist in creating data files?Open your form within Acrobat®, select Tools > ARTS PDF Variform Lite > Export Field Names, choose your delimiter and qualifier settings and then click 'Export'. You will then be prompted to save your data file. This file will include all form field names in the correct format for use with ARTS PDF Variform Lite. 2. When I try to output merged files directly to a printer, all print jobs appear to be flushing. What is the cause of the problem?ARTS PDF Variform Lite requires that you output to a Adobe® PostScript (or compatible) Level 2 or PostScript 3) printer. Ensure that your printer supports PostScript. 3. Can ARTS PDF Variform Lite merge records directly from a Microsoft Access database? No, this functionality is only available in ARTS PDF Variform Plus. ARTS PDF Variform Plus allows you to merge records from any ODBC database or from Adobe® FDF/XFDF files. The Plus version also supports variable images. 4. When merging directly to file (rather than to a printer), I am producing output as PostScript files. How do I create PDF files rather than PostScript files?Try printing directly to the 'Adobe PDF' Printer rather than to file. Alternatively, you can use Acrobat® Distiller® to convert PostScript files to PDF. When using watched folders, Acrobat® Distiller® can take all Variform Lite output and convert this to PDF in an automated fashion. To do this, set up your Distiller® (watched folder) as your ARTS PDF Variform Lite 'output' folder. 5. I am having a problem with ARTS PDF Variform Lite and it is not covered in this list of FAQs. What can I do?
